I’m a birthworker, yoga teacher, and Registered Nurse.

I grew up in a military family, moving around every couple of years. I studied International Studies and Anthropology at the University of South Carolina. I wanted to do humanitarian work on an international level: meeting people with respect and dignity in times of crisis and transformation.

I wound up falling in love with the simplicity and concreteness of nature. I spent my twenties farming, gardening, and understanding the land. I lived in the hills of rural Virginia and learned about living in community, doing-it-yourself, and the magic and transformative power of natural process.

In 2015 I followed my interest in health, healing and herbal medicine to birth work and started studying with a home birth midwife. In 2017 I completed my doula training and 300hr Yoga Teacher Training in New Orleans, LA. I taught a great beginners yoga class on Tuesday evenings. In 2019 I started nursing school in Philly, and graduated in 2020- not my best work for timing! I had a rough start as a nurse but finally landed on an excellent postpartum unit at an excellent hospital.

Last year I trained in and became certified in Body Ready Method: a physiology approach to pregnancy and birth that uses alignment and movement principles to facilitate a smoother birth and recovery. After a long birth (with my bestie!) I was keen to sharpen my birth detective and problem solving skills. BRM is phenomenal! I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about their programs.

I’ve been living and working in Richmond, Virginia since 2020 and I have just loved getting into Richmond life: bike rides, the river, pickleball, Helen’s. I’m based in North Side. So far the furthest I’ve traveled for a client is Chesterfield but shoot me a note, we will see if we can work something out! I’m a volunteer with Richmond Doula Project, the BEST collective of full spectrum doulas that I adore so much. I also proudly volunteer with Health Brigade.
